We here at cfcuk are extremely pleased that the fanzine is sponsored by Powerday, the waste recycling company run by long-time and well renowned Chelsea supporter Mick Crossan. Mick has followed Chelsea most of his life and is well known and highly respected by those involved in the everyday running of the club.
Indeed, you may well have seen the name Powerday when visiting Stamford Bridge for the company’s name features prominently on all the Blue (naturally!) waste receptacles that are in place around the stadium.
Long-time followers of Chelsea may well remember that the Powerday logo used to feature on the hoardings on the East Middle Stand for many years.
Mick who follows Chelsea home and away, now sits in the West Stand Lower and watches The Blues alongside his family and some 30 or so similarly minded and equally loyal Chelsea supporters.
Mick was kind enough to arrange for a container to be delivered and used at Stamford Bridge to store the Blue Flag that is displayed on home matchdays in the Lower Matthew Harding Stand.
As part of our new deal with Mick, the fanzine’s football team is now known as ‘cfcuk Powerday’ and entered its first competitive tournament at the 2009 Cobham Supporters’ Tournament wearing a kit sponsored by Powerday.
The grateful thanks of all at cfcuk go to Mick Crossan and Powerday.
We are also pleased that our loose affiliation with BAWA has ensured that a ‘loan’ arrangement will be in place between the two teams with the chatters’ sides players now available for both home and away European duty with a view to arranging matches between supporters of Chelsea’s Champions League opponents.
The squad will include players from both cfcuk and BAWA but we invite those who would like to play for us in the future to contact us here.
